Transforming Lives Through Expert Occupational Therapy & Dyslexia Therapy
Occupational Therapy
I am an Occupational Therapist with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals across the lifespan with a wide range of physical, developmental, cognitive, and sensory challenges. My career has spanned education, community, and private sector, delivering tailored, evidence-based interventions that promote meaningful participation and independence.
With a particular interest and skill set in Specific Learning Disabilities, for the last 5 years I have specialised my practice to working with school based children in both primary and secondary schools.
This is in tandem with a client base of individuals across the lifespan (children to elderly) with various needs.
Dyslexia Therapy
As a Dyslexia Therapist, I provide targeted, evidence based interventions based on the science of reading and the science of learning to improve reading, writing and handwriting.
A little bit about me:
In 2022, Marigold Occupational Therapy was founded as a private practice committed to supporting children and adults with diverse needs.
Since its inception, Marigold Occupational Therapy has supported clients from all walks of life. Over the past five years, I have specialised in school-based occupational therapy with a focus on supporting children and young adults with specific learning disabilities, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and developmental coordination disorder.
In addition, I am certified in Multi-Sensory Structured Language (MSL)—a research-backed teaching approach that builds foundational skills in reading, writing, and handwriting. I spent 18 months working exclusively in this field.
My motivation to specialise in learning disabilities is deeply personal. As the parent of a child with severe dyslexia, I have experiences firsthand the challenges that both the child and the family supporting the child can face within the mainstream education system. My son’s journey inspired me to become both a practitioner and an advocate—committed to creating inclusive, responsive neuro-affirming support for neurodiverse learners.
Through Marigold Occupational Therapy, I bring together clinical expertise, lived experience, and a deep commitment to empowering children and adults.
Our Services
Marigold Occupational Therapy is a mobile OT service which means that we come to you, whether that be your school, home, or community setting.
Currently providing therapy to the north-east of Melbourne. Suburbs include: Bundoora, Macleod, Greensborough, Reservoir, Kingsbury, Heidelberg and surrounds.
What to expect:
Prior to our first therapy session, a 15 minute phone consultation will be conducted with the participants parent/carer to get an overview of the child or adult’s strengths and challenges.
What to Expect at Your First Appointment
🦋 The first session will include a comprehensive initial assessment, which typically lasts 60 minutes. This initial assessment could be for 1-2 consultations, depending on what is needed to be completed.
This could involve either a standardised and/or informal assessment (such as observations or a screener assessment), depending on the child’s or adult’s age, abilities, and individual needs.
The purpose of this assessment is to gain a clear baseline understanding. This baseline understanding will then guide therapy interventions, sessions and goals.
🎯 Tailored to the Child or Adult
Every child and adult is unique, so the assessment approach is flexible and personalised.
👪 After the Assessment
Once the assessment is complete, a follow-up meeting will be arranged between Marigold Occupational Therapy and the parent/carer to discuss the results and answer any questions. If required, a detailed report can be provided to assist with funding, school support, or NDIS documentation.
